A youth-led climate education program that turns young East African immigrants into climate educators for their own families, in Oromo, Somali, and Arabic, across Minneapolis Green Zones.
The AYLI Climate Initiative meets families where they are. Over twelve months of hands-on learning, young leaders are trained to carry climate knowledge home in the languages their neighbors actually speak: Oromo, Somali, and Arabic.
Working across Minneapolis Green Zones, each cohort of 30 to 40 youth reaches more than 100 families at home, turning classroom lessons into everyday change in the neighborhoods that need it most.
